Ed Corrigan a écrit un article pour le New York Times. L'article intitulé "Steeken, British team lead riding rankings" a été publié dans l'édition du 26.01.1975. L'article traitait le classement mondial de saut d'obstacles annuel créé par Max E. Ammann.

Hartwig Steeken of West Germany has been ranked No. 1 in the unofficial annual world rating of horse show riders, and Britain has been placed as the top team.

The rankings are made by Max Ammann, a Swiss equestrian journalist and editor of the Lucerne newspaper, Luzerner Tagblatt.

“The rankings,” he said, “are based on the results of 16 official international shows around the world, about 55 unofficial shows and all the major Grand Prix events held in the United States and Canada during the year.”

Max E. Ammann a travaillé à New York (USA) en tant que correspondant à l’étranger pour des journaux Suisse, allemand et autrichien de 1964-1973. Il était responsable pour des thèmes généraux ainsi que pour des thèmes dans les domaines de la politique, de la culture et du sport.
